Calgary police are asking for the public’s help to find a woman they say “is believed to have played a significant role in the events that led to the deaths” of four people earlier this month, including two sisters from Stoney Nakoda First Nation.

Investigators say they want to question 24-year-old Yu Chieh Liao – who goes by Diana Liao – in connection with the quadruple homicide of Tiffany Ear, her sister, Glynnis Fox, Cody Pfeiffer and Hanock Afowerk.

Fox, Ear and Pfeiffer were found dead in a burned-out car in Sage Hill on July 10, and Afowerk’s body was discovered in a ditch just north of the Highway 8 traffic circle on Highway 22 two days later.

Liao, a 5-foot-5 Asian with long dark hair and brown eyes, “may be travelling with a black male who is small in stature,” police said in a release.

She uses rental cars and stays in hotels and has connections in a number of cities, including Calgary, Vancouver, Moose Jaw, Regina, and Toronto. Police said Liao and the man were seen on security cameras in the Moose Jaw, Sask., area last week.

Meanwhile, donations are continuing to pour in from area residents for Fox and Ear’s 16 children.

Aunt Deborah Hunter and niece Kaila Ear have been collecting food, household items, clothing and toys for the kids, and a GoFundMe page started by the victims’ brother, Lorenzo Ear, at www.gofundme.com/children-that-lost-there-mothers has nearly $800.

“I’m sure these small comforts will greatly ease this family and these children who are grieving,” Hunter wrote this week in an email.

Anyone with information about the case is urged to call (403) 266-1234 or (403) 428-8877.
