RCMP raided four homes in Cochrane related to organized crime and drugs this morning.
Following a short two-month investigation by the Cochrane RCMP, four search warrants were executed Thursday morning with multiples suspects taken into custody - charges have yet to be laid. At least two of the properties were in the Sunset neighbourhood.
“Despite what social media is saying there were no shootings and no injuries and no public safety concerns, ” Mike Tucker, Alberta Law Enforcement Response Team (ALERT) communications manager, said.
Witnesses noticed windows shattered in one of the houses raided but Tucker said it was all part of the tactical entry process.
“There were no incidents beyond tactical procedures, ” Tucker said.
ALERT is currently investigating with assistance from the Cochrane RCMP.
