ROCKY VIEW— Rocky View Schools announced Monday (May 3) all Grade 7 to 12 students will temporarily move to online learning starting Tuesday (May 4).
The Government of Alberta announced last week any junior or high schools in regional hot spots would temporarily move to online learning— Rocky View County was added to the list on Monday. Hot spots are defined as regions with more than 350 cases per 100,000 people and 250 currently active cases.
At-home learning is expected to continue until at least May 14, with May 17 as the earliest date students will return to in-person learning under the school divisions Scenario 3 Plan.
Students from Kindergarten to Grade 6 will remain in classrooms— Aside from Westbrook, Mitford and Fireside Schools previously who moved to online learning Monday.
Students impacted by the move online will be contacted by their school and their teachers about how learning will be supported during this temporary at-home period as quickly as possible.
