RVC looking for residents input in budget open house

Rocky View County (RVC) is asking residents for input in developing medium- and long-term service plans and the budgets to support them.

Rocky View County (RVC) is asking residents for input in developing medium- and long-term service plans and the budgets to support them.

Residents will be asked to share their ideas and opinions May 21 at the municipal office on where the county is doing too much, too little and where things are just right.

“This open house is an opportunity for residents to speak to county representatives face-to-face, and understand how the county’s services are managed and funded. There will be a number of ways that Rocky Viewers can let us know their ideas and priorities,” said Grant Kaiser, the county’s manager of communication services.

“There will be an online survey available from May 22 until June 1, but we’re really hoping that everyone comes out to the open house so we can get a chance to really understand resident’s priorities.”

The open house, called ‘Your County, Your Money, Your Voice,’ is designed to help councillors understand what programs and services residents want offered, and where the county can make changes to existing services.

Input will help council and administration make the best possible decisions for RVC, according to Kaiser.

The open house will take place May 21 at the Municipal Building (911 – 32 Ave NE, Calgary) from 11:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

According to Kaiser, as a pre-cursor to the open house, the county has developed a comprehensive guide that residents can read before providing their input.
