The Cochrane Activettes thought it was “absolutely superb” to receive $4,901 from the local Safeway after a month long campaign raised funds for the Food Bank.
The Cochrane Safeway hosted a 31-day campaign during December, asking residents and guests to donate Food Bank items or purchase a bag where a portion of the cost would go to the Activettes Food Bank.
Safeway manager John Conway said the Give the Gift of Food campaign was in the top five of most successful in western Canada.
