Seniors on the Bow (SOTB) is moving into a busy season of special events. Today (Feb. 18) at 1:30 p.m., the gentle yoga therapy sessions begin and continue Feb. 25 and March 3.

Today (Feb. 18) at 1:30 p.m., the gentle yoga therapy sessions begin and continue Feb. 25 and March 3. During these sessions, movement will be slowed down so you can tune in to your body. Registrants are limited to 8.

This month’s hot lunch is served Feb. 19. This popular event is limited to 75 registrants and you may attend Pub Friday following lunch if you wish.

Monday’s (Feb. 22) movie matinee goes at 1:15 p.m. featuring Difret, a crime drama about an old Ethiopian tradition of abduction leading to marriage. On Feb. 29 the movie will be Burnt, a drama about a chef who messes up his career with drugs.

The book club meets Feb. 26 to discuss Accidents of Marriage, by Randy Susan Meyers. This is a fictional account of a family dominated by a controlling father. The Vanishing Point, by W.O. Mitchell, is the March book. This novel is set on the Stoney Reserve where the protagonist, Carlyle Sinclair, goes to teach.

Also on Feb. 26, a speaker’s event happens at 6:30 p.m. and concerns “modern policing in a complex world.” Candis McLean, author of When Police Become Prey, will discuss an analysis of miscarriage of justice regarding Saskatoon City Police. Lloyd (Tex) Luegner, retired from the Canadian Army, will speak on United Nations peacekeeping, the myth and the reality. Refreshments will be served and the public is invited.

March will be a busy month starting with a tour of Calgary’s Global TV Station on March 1. This will acquaint attendees with the behind-the-scenes activity for a typical newscast. Registration is limited to 25 people. A board-subsidized event, the cost is $5 per person. Register at the front reception desk.

In conjunction with the intergenerational program there will be a presentation by the Alberta Wildlife Institute on March 17 at 1 p.m. Everyone is welcome. Another session of self defence is slated for March 24 at 1:30 p.m. On March 31, a life coach will speak about “managing transition.”

Can you sing? Dance? Do magic tricks? A talent show is scheduled for June 10 at 1:30 p.m., where you can present your ability whatever your age. Contact Ruth Brett at 403-932-0605 if you would like to be included in the program.

SOTB is open daily Monday-Friday from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m.
