Cochrane RCMP officers were attempting to execute an arrest warrant on the Stoney Nakoda First Nation reservation when shots were fired on Saturday.
The RCMP K Division media relations confirmed this incident is related to the missing persons, Lorenzo Anthony Bearspaw, 27, from Morley, who went missing on Jan. 1.
Alberta Serious Incident Response Team (ASIRT) has taken the lead on the investigation.
