Stay safe this spooky day

With Halloween a couple of days away, the Cochrane RCMP want to remind everyone to stay safe this spooky night with a couple of handy tips. Safety in numbers.

With Halloween a couple of days away, the Cochrane RCMP want to remind everyone to stay safe this spooky night with a couple of handy tips.

Safety in numbers. Do not go out by yourself on All Hallows’ Eve, try your best to stick with a couple of friends or a large group.

Be visible. If you are wearing a dark costume make sure you have a piece of reflective tape so you are visible to vehicles and other people.

Stick to sidewalks. Halloween is not a night that exempts people from the law and trick-or-treaters are reminded to not wander in the middle of the road and to use caution before crossing the street.

Examine your goodies. Do not let your young monsters eat the candy before an adult inspects it and do not let your children eat anything that is open.

Use discretion. The RCMP said they receive a lot of suspicious people calls on Halloween, so they want to remind people to use discretion when answering their doors and do not be alarmed if people are wearing masks.

If you notice anything out of the ordinary on Halloween, contact the Cochrane RCMP at 403-851-8000.
