While this has not been a banner year for the many thousands of families still striving to find a cure for the dreaded Parkinson disease, research efforts continue unabated with some positive results beginning to take shape. As the research professionals move forward it follows that a need exists for fundraising to support their efforts.
With this in mind, I wish to compliment and thank the many Cochrane folks who have contributed over the years and at the same time inform your readers that our 2017 Step 'n Stride Parksinson five kilometre Walk is set for 1 p.m. on Sunday, Sept. 10 at Mitford Park, Cochrane.
For those wishing to join in the event, they can register on line at www.parkinsonalberta.ca stepnstride where pledge can be made and/or pledge forms obtained. Please keep in mind that participants will be treated to an after-event barbeque and some musical entertainment in the band shell area where the registration takes place.
