The Stop Bully Organization is hosting second annual charity fundraiser Keep it in the Ring II at the Texas Gate Bar & Grill on April 19.

Originally starting in Red Deer in 2001 as a one-time educational publication about bullying awareness, the organization has grown into international entity. Also associated with Stop Bully is Bikers Against Bullying.

George Chuvalo, a retired five-time Canadian heavyweight boxing champion, will be the special guest at the charity dinner. Chuvalo faced Muhammad Ali twice during his boxing career.

Those in attendance will have the chance to watch Chuvalo’s first fight against Ali, who considers Chuvalo one of his toughest opponents. Chuvalo will provide commentary during the fight and answer questions.

Also scheduled to attend that evening will be Marvin Elkin, friend of Chuvalo’s and former law enforcement informant. The Weasel: A Double Life in the Mob, written by Adrian Humphreys, chronicles Elkin’s dangerous life experiences during his informant career, which included driving Jimmy Hoffa before his disappearance.

The fundraiser will also feature a prime rib and lobster dinner, a live band, and a silent auction. Fans will also have the chance to take photos with Chuvalo.

Tickets for the evening are $100 each and can be purchased at the Texas Gate. The event starts at 6 p.m.

Proceeds from the evening will go toward the development of a bully reporting tool in the form of an app. To date, Stop Bully has raised $25,000 for the app, which just completed its first phase of development.
