With the New Year comes exciting developments for the Cochrane Health and Fitness Club.

Operating at 118 1st Ave in Cochrane, the club is now a family business.

Owned by Connie Showell and Roy Flowers and run with the help of Showell’s daughters, Katie and Christine, the family hopes to bring in previous, current, and new members with five new registered programs.

Starting the week of Jan. 18, the club will be running: Spin Boot Camp, Mom & Tot, Core Carving, Barre Class, and Endurance Brick.

Spin Boot Camp combines cardio exercise and muscle training to burn calories and tone muscles.

Mom & Tot is for mom’s with babies under 12 months old and mixes cardio exercise with body weight training.

Core Carving is for anyone looking to tone their muscles or lose inches off their waist by laying the foundation to support all body movements.

Barre Class is a ballet-inspired workout that aims to tone muscles and focuses on muscle strength and flexibility.

Endurance Brick is a combination of two to three workouts including spinning, strength sets, full body exercises, and more.

All five of the programs will run for 6 weeks.

Also new this year, Cochrane Health and Fitness Club will be offering child-minding starting February 1. Child-minding will run: Monday, Wednesday, and Friday from 8 am to 11 am, Tuesday and Thursday from 4 pm to 7 pm, and Saturdays from 9 am to 12 pm.
