While the Town of Cochrane has been dealing with a computer virus for the last couple of weeks, residents need not worry about personal data being hacked.
“We are 100 per cent sure that no personal information was affected,” said Dave Devana, town CAO.
He said the town brought in an outside party to help remediate the situation, and that virus did affect town computers and the origin of the virus was an email.
“The IT systems have been restored and we are updating our firewalls to protect our network,” said Devana.
