Commuters can expect traffic delays in the coming weeks due to ongoing work along the Highway 1A and 22 interchange.

The Town of Cochrane is informing motorists of what to expect along the Highway 1A and 22 interchange as traffic impacts can be expected in the near future.

Alberta Transportation and Economic Corridors provided an update of expected traffic impacts that will be taking place through the last few weeks of April.

On April 18 and 19, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m., traffic will be reduced to a single lane from 6th Ave West an the Historic Ranche access on Highway 1A for barrier placement. The work zone will be flagger controlled.

The following week, crews will start to haul material through the east and south legs of the detour roundabout. This will continue throughout the summer. The crossings will be controlled by flaggers.

Finally on April 23, the Historic Ranche parking lot will be closed for utility construction. Alternate parking can be found in front of the Cochrane Alliance Church on Glenbow Drive, and parents can use the pathway to access the tri-school area. Cyclists and pedestrians will also be accommodated via a pathway detour.
