The Water Valley Celtic Festival is slated to kick off June 21 in Water Valley, and organizers continue to look for volunteers to help out with the popular annual event.

The day is filled with a variety of activities at an array of locations throughout Water Valley, including the Community Hall, Water Valley Saloon, the Old School House and various tents.

The day will feature musical, dance and story-telling talent performed by individuals and groups covering a range of skill, from amateur to professional. The event is patterned after a similar festival held in Ireland and is designed to promote traditional Celtic material and local talent.

Performers include A Joy-Full Sound, A Lassie and her Mither, Alan and Shirley Duo, Caravana, and several more.

Several artisans will also take part in the one-day event, including Bill Guse, Dawn and Jessa Kay and Deb Bridge.

In addition to taking in event festivities, attendees can pre-book camping sites (weather dependent) at a cost of $10 per night.

In the event of seriously wet weather, no vehicles will be allowed onto the grounds. However, tent camping will be permitted, providing tents and equipment are carried onto the site.

Tickets to the Water Valley Celtic Festival are $20 (single) and $60 (family) in advance; $25 (single) and $75 (family) at the door.

Tickets can be purchased at the Water Valley General Store, Red House Video and Gifts, or online at watervalleycelticfestival.org.
