Water Valley gets social

This fall, residents from Water Valley and beyond are invited to an evening with old friends, and the potential to make some new ones.

On Saturday, Nov. 8, the Water Valley Church will be hosting a Harvest Social from 7 – 11 p.m. at the church’s Event Centre.

“It is a really good opportunity to get the community together and have a little get together and socialize,” said Kristine Sarsons, who owns the Water Valley Church Events Centre with her husband Rick.

She said that although people in the community see each other quite often at local stores or volunteering, this offers an opportunity to simply socialize.

“This is something that nobody has to work at, they just come and have a good time,” she said.

Sarsons said they had a Spring Social earlier this year and hope to make a tradition of having at least three of these types of events each year at the centre.

“A lot of people turned out to the one in May,” she said. “We are hoping for more this time and that it catches on.”

Light snacks will be provided and there will also be a cash bar with a featured fall cocktail. The cost of admission is $10 and they also ask attendees to bring a donation of a non-perishable food item for the Cochrane Activettes Food Bank.

Sarsons asked that people RSVP by calling her at 587-226-7567 or emailing [email protected].
