Waves rocking for new pool

Since September, Rock the Waves has received many donations from various organizations putting the campaign at close to half of their fundraising goal. Rock the Waves fundraising goal is set at $10.

Since September, Rock the Waves has received many donations from various organizations putting the campaign at close to half of their fundraising goal.

Rock the Waves fundraising goal is set at $10.6 million and, currently, the contributions total ring in at $4,585,090.

Since September Rock the Waves has received:

$50,000 from Cochrane Lions Club

$100,000 from Bow RiversEdge Campground Society

$5,422.05 from the Fort McMurray Tarsands Canoe & Kayak Club, and

$1,000 from the Red Rock Running and Tri Club.

According to the latest update on the Rock The Waves website, the current and past construction activities are; excavations for incoming water, underground plumbing to the aquatics shower areas, and envelope panels installed around the curling rink.

Future construction will involve structural steel over the pool portion of the building, refrigeration equipment to be installed for the curling ice sheet, and stripping out of portions of the existing building.
