Cochrane Generals make sweeping comeback to tie up playoff series

The Gens rebounded in Rocky Tuesday night to tie up the best of seven semifinal series 2-2. They'll look to take the lead in Game 5 at the Cochrane Arena Feb. 24.

They may have been down, but they certainly weren't out.

The Generals lit up the Rocky Arena Complex last night (Feb.22) winning Game 4 against the Rams by a margin of six goals to tie up the semifinal playoff series after back-to-back losses on the weekend.

The Rams were first to hit the scoreboard Tuesday with their one and only goal coming from rookie forward Kyle Humphrey in the first four minutes. Gens captain, left-winger Patrick Forde and rookie forward Jordan Butz — who scored the first of four power play goals throughout the evening — led their team into the second period up by one.

Forde, who was recently crowned Heritage Junior Hockey League MVP, found another goal in the second period, adding five points to his name on the night.

His linemates Tristan Ripplinger and Kyle Crosbie also scored in the second. The other two goals came from Zac Fulton in the second and Jordan Marks, who took advantage of one of many roughing penalties near the end of the third period to make an unassisted power play goal.

The Gens racked up a total of 46 shots on Rams goalies' Zaiden Hansen and Devon Carroll by the end of the night, while goalie Davyn Larocke held down their net allowing only one of Rocky's 29 shots past.

The best of seven series continues at the Cochrane Arena Feb. 24 at 7:45 p.m.
