COMMENTS: “We wintered very well. Greens are in great shape. We opened fully on all greens on March 25,” says Cochrane GC course manager Eric Kauffmann. “No temps. It’s our belief we don’t want to do temp greens. We only open when we can open on regular greens.”

COMMENTS: “We’re about a month ahead condition-wise as far as the course goes,” says Wintergreen head pro Tom Day, who’s been busy getting Wintegreen up and running ahead of schedule. “I haven’t had a chance to play yet, but the reports I’m getting are all positive. We wintered very well.”

COMMENTS: “It’s coming along. It’s been an early start. Everything is open,” says Lynx Ridge head pro John Seymour, who adds early-May tee times aren’t starting quite as early as regular-season tee times because overnight temperatures are still below freezing.

“And we’re not struggling on any aspects of the course. Every week it gets better. Some days are busier than others.”
