The Cochrane Generals are closer to securing a Heritage Junior Hockey League playoff spot following a stirring 4-3 overtime win over the league-leading Okotoks Bisons Jan. 19 at Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre.

“We’re looking at making a pretty good run,” said Generals head coach Ken Soloski of his team’s seven remaining regular-season games, all at home. “We’d like to get ahead of (fourth-place) Strathmore. That’ll give us home ice advantage in the first round of the playoffs. That would be nice.”

The Generals have also shored up their goaltending with the acquisition of former UFA Bisons netminder Grayson Sharpe.
