The 58-year-old physical education teacher, who started teaching and coaching at Cochrane High in 1981, is hanging up the classroom chalk at the end of the school year.

“Yeah, I’m retiring as a teacher/coach,” he confirms. But the dean of the Cobras defence will be back on the field after school.

“My wife wants me to continue coaching,” he relays. “It’s all about the kids (players), not me.”
