Cochrane novice saddle bronc rider Keenan Reinhardt is rolling.
After claiming the novice saddle bronc title at Calgary Stampede on July 12, Reinhardt rode winners in Dogpound on July 16, Maple Creek, Sask., July 17 and took second July 19 at Kennedy, Sask.
Reinhardt is third in Canadian Pro Rodeo (CPRA) novice saddle bronc standings with $3,488.12 in earnings, just $600 behind leader Tyler Kampjes of Sturgeon County.
Cochrane’s Beau Brooks took $200 out of Maple Creek in the bullriding event July 18. Straws Milan’s 4.6-second run in steer wrestling July 16 was good for sixth and $453.08.
Cochranite Steven Turner scored 79.5 points, taking $876.40 for seventh place in the bullriding event July 20 at the Morris Stampede in Manitoba. He doubled up in steer wrestling at Morris, earning $737.24 in seventh place his 4.3-second run.
Brooks is 11th in CPRA bull riding standings, earning $11,202.54 from 18 events so far. Turner is 14th with $8,375.53 on 15 rides.
Cochrane’s Tanner Milan is holding down second in CPRA steer wrestling standings with $16,469.46 from 23 events.
Cremona chuckwagon racer Jordie Fike, who’s now in High River, took 99 points out of Guy Weedick Days July 17-20 in High River. Fike’s Shawne Excavating & Trucking rig was 14th after four days of racing in High River and sits 15th in World Pro Chuckwagon Association standings at 578 points, just nine points behind Kelly Sutherland’s outfit.
