Season ends for Midget AA Timberwolves

The Bow Valley Midget AA Timberwolves’ season is over. After defeating visiting Sylvan Lake Lakers 7-4 in a “one-and-done” postseason play-in Feb.

The Bow Valley Midget AA Timberwolves’ season is over.

After defeating visiting Sylvan Lake Lakers 7-4 in a “one-and-done” postseason play-in Feb. 19, the Timberwolves were swept from the South Central Alberta Hockey League (SCAHL) Midget AA playoffs by the Lacombe Rockets.

The Rockets defeated Cochrane-based Bow Valley 4-2 Feb. 21 in Lacombe and 5-2 Feb. 23 in Cochrane, sweeping the Timberwolves in the best-of-3 SCAHL North Division series and eliminating them from the playoffs.

Brad Bergshoeff (2), Colton Wong and Tyler Wood scored for Bow Valley in the series against Lacombe.

Wong (2), Bergshoeff, Wyatt Fenton, Ty Milligan, Michael Hodges and Joshua Dees scored for Timberwolves against Sylvan Lake. Jackson Bader and Devin Daviduk turned aside 13 shots each for Bow Valley, sharing duty in goal for Game 2 against Lacombe. Daviduk made 27 saves in Game 1 vs. Lacombe and 24 saves against Sylvan Lake.
