Springbank’s Michelle Brodeur won the silver medal at the Snowboardcross NorAm Cup under sunny skies March 5 at Canyons, Utah.
The 24-year-old rider was the only Canadian to advance to the finals, finishing in second place for her strongest showing of the season. Faye Gulini of U.S. won the gold medal and Switzerland’s Simona Meiler took bronze.
Brodeur came into the race hoping to land on the podium and was pleased overall with how the day turned out.
“I’m really happy about getting second. It would have been nice to be out in front for a while because I definitely feel like I could have gone faster. But getting second was great.”
