Cochrane High School Cobras are sending 25 athletes to the Alberta Schools’ Athletic Association provincial track-and-field championships June 6-7 at Foothills Athletic Park in Calgary. The Cobras dominated the May 27 South Central Zone meet with a 486-point performance to win the Tier 2 Zone team championship.
“It was a complete team effort,” said Cobras track coach Esther Sieben. “We’ve got 25 athletes moving on, that’s a lot in 33 events.”
Bow Valley High School, led by senior Zone aggregate boy’s winner Cole Lethebe, is sending eight athletes.
Springbank High is sending nine athletes, four competing in the senior boy’s 4x100 relay.
