St. Timothy Thunder high school girl’s soccer player Seela Wulff has been named to the Calgary Senior High School Athletic Association girl’s South Selects team.
The Thunder senior striker, who helped St. Tim’s win the CSHSAA Div. 3 girl’s city championship last October, joins other top Calgary high-school soccer players at the Sept. 26 match.
“Seela comes with a very high skill set,” said Thunder co-coach Randy Smith. “She leads moreso by example. She’s a great teammate. The girls certainly look up to her on the field for leadership.”
Wulff was pivotal in St. Tim’s city championship win last October, curling a masterful 16-metre strike over Calgary’s Bishop McNally ’keeper for the game’s lone goal.
“She plays high-level soccer for a club team in the city (Calgary),” Smith related. “That’s the kind of skill and ability she brings to us. And she’s a great person. That is as important as anything.”
The CSHSAA girl’s Selects game goes 4 p.m., Sept. 26 at Southern Alberta Institute of Technology in Calgary.
