Canadian men's rugby sevens team will be without two key players in Paris

TORONTO — Canada will be without two key players for the HSBC Paris Sevens this weekend.

Connor Braid (shoulder) and Justin Douglas (ankle) have returned home after sustaining injuries last weekend in London.

Josiah Morra and Cooper Coats have been brought in as replacements for the Paris tournament, the final stop on the 10-event HSBC World Rugby Sevens Series.

The Canadian men, under interim coach Henry Paul, tied for seventh in London to match their best result of the season. Canada currently sits in 11th place in the overall standings.

After Paris, the Canadian men will be gearing up for the Rugby Americas North (RAN) Sevens 2020 Olympic Qualifier in July in the Cayman Islands.
