QMJHL Roundup: Remparts claw back to earn 3-2 shootout win over Olympiques

QUEBEC — Loic Goyette scored the winning goal in the shootout as the Québec Remparts earned a 3-2 comeback win over the Gatineau Olympiques on Wednesday in Quebec Maritimes Junior Hockey League action.

Mavrick Rousseau-Hamel and Xavier Lebel netted goals in regulation for Québec (18-27-2), which won its second in a row. Louis-Antoine Denault made 13 saves between regulation and overtime.

Justin Boisselle and Charles Boutin scored for Gatineau (16-26-3-3), which got 27 saves from Zach Pelletier.

Boutin put the Olympiques ahead 2-0 by the 13:44 mark of the opening period but Rousseau-Hamel scored his first of the season at 18:33 to trim the deficit. 

Lebel evened the score at 9:21 of the third period to push the game to extra time.

VAL-D'OR, Que. - Jiri Klima scored a power-play goal with 1:21 left in the contest to lift the Shawinigan Cataractes past the Val-d'Or Foreurs 1-0.

Mathys Fernandez earned a 21-save shutout for Shawinigan (21-24-2-1).

William Blackburn stopped 29 shots for Val-d'Or (12-29-3-2), which dropped its 14 straight game.
