Brett Barabas of Cochrane, AB, passed away on Saturday, February 11, 2023 at the age of 28 years.
Brett was born in Slave Lake, AB, on October 20, 1994. Brett loved golfing in the summer with his dad, and ice fishing and hunting in the winter with his northern family. Brett loved BANGERS from Johnny Cash to Iron Maiden.
He loved spending time with family and friends. His other passion was playing slow pitch with his team the Grass Stains along side with his best friends including Dustin, Leisha, and Meatloaf. Brett was also quick with a joke, quicker with a comeback and tried to make everyone laugh. He was also a very passionate Oilers and Blue Jays fan.
Brett worked for The Spray Lake Sawmills in Cochrane for close to 10 years. He will miss all of his co-workers who were truly his friends and family.
Brett is survived by his loving parents Greg and Yvette Barabas; and his sister Brittany Barabas (Liam). Brett is also survived by his loving Grandma Margaret Girard; Uncle Rob, and Aunty Jackie Girard; cousins, Jocelyn LeBeau (Jesse), Connor Girard (Jenny), Kennedy Girard (Tyler), and Jenna Weisgerber (Ryan). Uncle Brett always had a very special place in his heart for Paisley, Cohen, Everly, Sawyer and Ellie, as well as numerous friends.
Brett was predeceased by his Grandpa Remi Girard, Grandpa Kizik Barabas, Aunty Rita Huot, Leanne Huot, Charlee Weisgerber and his Grandma Doris Barabas who passed away on the same day as Brett.
