Busy month for Seniors on the Bow

Exercise classes, dancing, cards and other activities are in full swing at Seniors on the Bow (SOTB). On Wednesday, October 16 at 1:30 pm Acrylic Painting will begin with well known local artist, Lorri-Pullman McDonald instructing.

Looking forward to October, a busy month is planned. On Saturday, October 5, from 7 pm the Harvest Dance will bring out folks with itchy feet to kick up their heels to the lively tunes of the Smokin’ Aces. Cash bar and nibblies, with light lunch at 10 pm and then more dancing. The public is welcome. Invite your friends at a reasonable cost of $15 per person.

With Municipal elections set for October 23, Candidates Forum is scheduled for Wednesday, October 2 at 6:30 to 9 pm and again October 9, if interest warrants it. This is open to the General Public and is your opportunity to hear and quiz candidates for mayor and council.

Another Jockey Fashion Show is planned for Saturday, October 19 at 2 pm. A popular event for ladies of SOTB and community, reserve your place now because seats go quickly. A bargain at $10 per person.

Activities for September:

Friday, September 27 at 2 pm. features the first monthly Fun Friday with a cash bar along with games, fun and fellowship.

Also on Friday, September 27 at 2 pm Book Club meets to discuss Old Indian Trails of the Canadian Rockies, a memoir by Mary Schaffer Warren, an early mountaineer, and her biography, No Ordinary Woman by Janice Beck. On deck for October is Blackout about the London blitz in World War II by Mary Collins.

Please note that Square Dancing happens on Wednesdays at 7 pm. Cost $5.

Movie Matinees at 1:30 pm Mondays, with The Great Gatsby on September 22, about a war veteran drawn to the lifestyle of his millionaire neighbour. On September 30, Now You See Me, a mystery thriller featuring a band of illusionists screens.
