Coffee with Mayor kicks off SOTB's next month

Gardening and hiking season has arrived. Time to get out and enjoy the sunshine in our beautiful part of Canada. Seniors on the Bow (SOTB) will be closed from April 18-21 for the Easter break. On April 22.

Seniors on the Bow (SOTB) will be closed from April 18-21 for the Easter break. On April 22. SOTB will reopen with a regular schedule along with a few special events.

Enjoy Coffee With the Mayor at 2:15 p.m. April 23. Keep up to date with town matters and ask questions.

Also April 23, be sure to attend the SOTB annual general meeting, at which board directors will be chosen and a proposed bylaw change will be considered. Your input is crucial to the success of SOTB.

On April 25, the book club meets to discuss The Universe Versus Alex Woods by Gavin Exstence. For May the chosen book is Wave by Sonali Deraniyalgali, a story dealing with the tsunami in Malaysia.

Writers, new and experienced, are gathering April 28 at 5:00 p.m. This is a support group for mentoring and supporting one another.

Also April 28, the Monday matinee features Grudge Match, a story of spring boxing rivals coming out of retirement for one final bout. The movie stars Robert De Niro, Sylvester Stallone and Kim Basinger.

On May 4 at 6:30 p.m. enjoy Hymn Sing, an always-popular gathering that meets to raise joyful voices in praise and joy.

Our food safety course happens May 10 from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. This is an important course for those working in SOTB’s commercial kitchen. Please register at SOTB at 403-932-6002.

The fashion show featuring clothing from Tan Jay and Alia is set for May 24 from 2-4 p.m. Tea will be served with goodies and a cash bar.

SOTB is open from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. Monday to Friday except for holidays (closed April 18 and 21).
