Dear editor,

As more than 450 wildfires rage across the province, the air is thick with smoke, and thousands of Albertans have been evacuated from their homes, I am appalled to read there is even a small protest against the fire break extension being pursued by Spray Lake Sawmills through their clear-cutting efforts in Bragg Creek.

I can only suspect the protest against this action originates from non-residents of Kananaskis Country with very little at stake should the area see a wildfire.

I feel we should applaud and support Spray Lakes Sawmills for their continued commitment to the development of a fireguard for our wooded community.

Sincerely,

Rob Bartlett
