Dear editor,
My landlord just informed me that my rent will be going up 22 per cent this year. It's an outrageous increase that leaves me with a few questions, such as where he thinks I’m going get this money from?
The answer, I guess, is to simply work longer before retirement – if that ever happens – or spend less money at other businesses that provide products and services I need or want.
There’s something to be said for rent control laws. And as for housing, we need to reduce demand and increase supply. I can foresee a time where 12 people live in a small room. It occurs already in other countries.
