The Davies had a wonderful Birthday Celebration for their Mother Millie Davis on Jan. 24th as she turned 90 years young!
Known by a few monikers ... Mom, Gram, Great Gram, Mildred and Ma Millie she was thrilled to hear from family near and far. Due to Covid restrictions the “event” was a bit subdued ... But Mom figured that matched her energy level as she turned 90.
“Millie” was born at Nanton, Alta. And met her husband Gordon at a local dance. He was from Claresholm and they married, lived a few years in the Longview area before moving to Cochrane in 1961. Gord passed away in 1988 and Mom has stayed on her acreage just north of Cochrane since then.
Gram is so thrilled that she can boast four generations of “Davies” in the Cochrane area. Not a common scenario in these fast moving, far flung days. She has five children, Ted, Leslie, Ivan, Arletta and Teresa. She brags on her 10 Grandchildren and Double Brags on her seven Great Grandchildren.
Mom is the epitome of patience, kindness, understanding and Love. Mom is still with a quick wit, doing puzzles daily and spends lots of her time painting pictures for all the Davies generations. She is a wonderful role model for all her children and their children. We all look forward to many more Birthday celebrations with Mom and hopefully the COVID Curse has moved on and the hugs can be real not virtual!
