To the Cochrane RCMP, Cochrane Search & Rescue, the Calgary and Foothills Search & Rescue teams and the people in the Cochrane community.

Thank you from the bottom of my heart to those of you who searched tirelessly for me and who supported my wife during a very dark time.

At this point I would normally try to inject some humour into the story but this is a mental health story ... And quite serious.

On Saturday, Nov. 28, I left home without my phone or wallet. When I hadn't returned by 4 p.m., my wife called the RCMP and reported me missing. Their response was immediate and the scope of the search that was undertaken has dumbfounded me. The response from the Cochrane Search & Rescue and the Calgary and Foothills Search & Rescue groups and the community in and around Cochrane has left me awestruck.

During these uncertain times, mental health issues are becoming more prevalent in our communities. It appears that I have had some sort of mental break. But ... We're on it now and thanks to Alberta Health Services and the wonderful medical pros at Foothills Hospital, we are being directed along the right path.

I can never express my full gratitude to the RCMP detachment, members of the search teams and the Cochrane community at large ... So I'll just say THANK YOU.
