Seniors on the Bow busy as 2015 winds down

Seniors on the Bow (SOTB) is looking forward to activities which will wind up 2015. The holiday season promises some good times and some moments of reflection. 2015 has been a good year of activities and special events.

On Thurs., Nov. 19, at 1:15 p.m. the Canada 100 Mosaic comes to SOTB. Be sure to come and paint a tile for this historic event. It’s free and supplies are provided.

A couple of films wind up November during Monday Movie Matinees at 1:15 p.m. on Nov. 23. That Sugar Film is a documentary that shows the effects of a high-sugar diet on healthy bodies. On Nov. 30, Vacation, a comedy, is featured. On Thurs., Nov. 26 at 1:30 p.m., a fall-prevention seminar titled A Healthy Balance will offer pointers on how to stay steady on your feet.

The foot doctor will be at SOTB on Mon., Nov. 30 at 8:30 a.m. Call Dorothy at 403-851-0812 to book an appointment.

Nov. 28 marks the beginning of the Christmas Season with SOTB’s annual Christmas bake sale. From 10 a.m.-2 p.m., it will be situated on the main level of Spray Lake Sawmills Family Sports Centre. Members can drop off baking at SOTB on Friday all day or on Saturday morning. Here is your chance to help out SOTB and to add variety to your stock of Christmas baking.

Christmas Hymn Sing is set for Sun., Dec. 6, at 6:30 p.m. If you enjoy singing well-known Christmas carols, this is the event for you. It’s a good chance to sing carols of the season and enjoy fellowship with friends.

On Sat., Dec. 12 at 6 p.m., the annual Christmas dinner is scheduled. Cost is $25 and will get you a complete turkey dinner with all the trimmings plus dessert prepared by our competent kitchen crew. Wine and beer will be available for $4 a glass.

Put on your glad rags and join the crowd for an evening of delicious food and fellowship. This is a popular event, so register early to ensure a space for yourself and family/friends.

SOTB is open daily Mon.-Fri. from 9 a.m.-noon and 1-4 p.m. except for holidays. Over the Christmas season SOTB, will be closed from Mon., Dec. 21, to Mon., Jan. 4.
