Weekly activities at Seniors on the Bow (SOTB) are up and running.
Beginner snowshoe series runs from Jan. 9 to Feb. 4 and is an excellent way to enhance confidence and strength while enjoying the outdoors. Register through the Town of Cochrane at 403-851-2534.
January hot lunch takes place Friday, Jan. 16 at 12:30 p.m.; $6 for hamburger soup, sub sandwiches and chocolate cake plus entertainment by 12-year-old violinist Monica Nugent. Pub Friday follows lunch with $4 per drink with plenty of fun, games and fellowship.
February hot lunch will take place Friday, Feb. 13. Following lunch the Warm Water Pool Therapy Society will have videos, power point and a model of the warm water pool planned for the new aquatic centre. The warm water therapy pool will be of special interest, but not exclusively, to seniors. Watch for more details on lunch.
Upcoming Monday movie matinees at 1:30 p.m. are The Giver Jan. 19. This is the story of a boy and an elderly friend exploring the pain and sorrow of the “real” world. On Jan. 25, The Fault in Our Stars is a love story of a couple of teens with different kinds of cancer.

The first hymn sing of 2015 is Sunday, Feb. 8 at 6:30 p.m. Join this always popular gathering for an evening of singing and fellowship. Refreshments served, volunteers are needed.
This is a good way to meet other people and help out SOTB as coffee drop-in host/hostess, reception, special event crew or baking/cooking. If interested, contact Shannon or Blossom at 403-932-7245. Sign up on the large wall calendar at SOTB for host/hostess or reception.
Tickets are still available on the beautiful quilt — $2 for one ticket and $10 for five.
