SOTB returns after summertime break

Shorter days are a harbinger of a coming change in the season. August 2015 has been an awesome month with a mix of sunshine and rain. Many good memories to take with us into fall, but soon it will be time to take up our regular activities.

Shorter days are a harbinger of a coming change in the season. August 2015 has been an awesome month with a mix of sunshine and rain. Many good memories to take with us into fall, but soon it will be time to take up our regular activities.

Seniors on the Bow (SOTB) has been quiet during the first three weeks in August, but will begin welcoming members and newcomers to drop in beginning Monday, Aug. 24.

Come in and enjoy a ‘cuppa,’ visit with friends you have missed over the summer and welcome new friends. From Aug. 24-28 folks previously involved with fitness and general interest classes at the SOTB drop-in centre can come by for coffee and tea. Please renew your membership to make sure you are eligible for discounts on various activities and to receive regular announcements about upcoming events. All seniors are welcome at the drop-in centre from Aug. 24-28.

It’s not too early to sign up for fitness and other classes through the Town of Cochrane. The town’s Fall Activities and Events catalog is out and will give you all the information you need to plan ahead.

Also, many activities have free attendance for the first classes so you can try out the ones you are interested in to see if they will be a good fit.

As well, SOTB will be putting a float in the Cochrane Labour Day Parade. Seniors will be needed to ride on the float and wave at the crowds. If interested, contact SOTB at 403-932-6002.

A busy and interesting fall season is planned. It will be good to get together again. Regular newspaper and social media announcements will keep you up-to-date beginning next week.

See you soon!
