SOTB summer hours scaled down

Seniors on the Bow (SOTB) will wrap up in June and here are a few reminders: Monday movie matinees will feature Selma June 22 at 1:15 p.m.

Seniors on the Bow (SOTB) will wrap up in June and here are a few reminders:

Monday movie matinees will feature Selma June 22 at 1:15 p.m. The movie chronicles the Selma to Montgomery civil rights march with Martin Luther King in 1965 and is highly recommended. On June 29, the movie will be Mr. Turner, the story of a great, eccentric British painter.

On Friday, June 26 at 2 p.m., SOTB’s book club will discuss individual selections for the month. July and August will also feature individual selections; venue to be determined.

As the warm weather makes outdoor activities more attractive, attendance at SOTB drops off. Therefore, we are reducing the hours for the summer. In July, we will be open Tuesdays and Thursdays for regular hours, as well as for the volunteer run, evening bridge and Friday morning chair fitness.

In August, we will be closed to give everyone a holiday. There will still be the volunteer run, Monday evening bridge and Friday morning chair fitness. Please check with the leaders of other regularly scheduled activities to determine when these will finish for the season (most likely the last week of June).

We hope to kick off the fall with an entry in the Labour Day Parade. If you are interested in taking part, contact Nancy Gibbie or Bernie Thibault or sign up at the registration desk. Come on, folks, let’s show Cochrane what an active and engaged group we are. Yee haw!

SOTB is regularly open daily, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. except for holidays.
