A couple of reminders for the end of February: The intergenerational program will run Tuesdays and Thursdays at 2:15 p.m. for a few weeks. This program provides for seniors and students at St. Timothy High School to enjoy some interesting times together.

Orientation begins today (Feb. 19) at 2:15 p.m. and the program continues the following Tuesdays and Thursdays.

On Thursday, Feb. 26 at 2:15 p.m., ‘supremely skunks’ will be presented by the Alberta Wilderness Institute. Everyone is welcome at no charge, but please register at Seniors on the Bow (SOTB) reception.

Monday movie matinee for Feb. 23 at 1:30 p.m. will be This is Where I Leave You. This tells of the chaos, humour and forgiveness that takes place when a large family of in-laws spends time together for a week.

Book club meets Friday, Feb. 27 at 2:15 p.m. to discuss My Antonia by Willa Cather. The book for March is Sue Monk Kidd’s latest novel The Invention of Wings.

March is a busy month – mark your calendars for the following events:

Saturday, March 7 from 1-4 p.m. – Second Annual Fine Art Show at SOTB. Free admission.

Friday, March 13 at 12:30 p.m. is hot lunch when the quilt raffle will be drawn. More details on the lunch to follow.

For the following events please pre-register at reception:

Wednesday, March 18 at 2:15 p.m. features two speakers – Richard Whitford on the Canol Project, a pipeline built from Normal Wells to Whitehorse to service the American armed forces in Alaska during the Second World War, a controversial development.

Richard Strange will talk about the 1992 disaster at Giant Mountain Mine near Yellowknife. These gentlemen are well versed in these N.W.T. events, so this will be an interesting afternoon and there is no charge.

There is a Thursday, March 5 drumming circle and Thursday, March 12 traditional aboriginal dancer presentation. More information to follow.

On Thursday, March 19 there will be the Cochrane historic presentation; more details to come.

SOTB is open daily, Monday to Friday from 9 a.m. to noon and 1-4 p.m. except holidays.
