COVID-19 cases dip in Cochrane

Province marks slight dip in Cochrane's active COVID-19 caseload

Active cases of COVID-19 are declining in Cochrane, albeit slowly, according to provincial statistics.

Last week (Nov. 17), the town had 60 active cases reported, but two individuals have since recovered as of the the Nov. 23 report.

In total, the town has had 1,718 cases and 1,653 have since recovered. Seven deaths were recorded in Cochrane.  

Airdrie is reporting 72 active cases bring the total case count since the pandemic's start to 5,486, of which 5,392 individuals recovered and 22 died. 

Rocky View County has seen 2,911 cases of the virus, 62 are currently active and more than 2,800 have recovered. Ten deaths are recorded in the county. 

To the south, two additional cases of the COVID-19 virus have been added to Okotoks' active load over the past week bringing the town's total number to 132, but it's not the only area with cases rising. 

The Calgary Zone is 37 per cent of the province's overall total reported COVID-19 cases with 122,921.

This week, the province announced vaccination appointments are open to children ages five to 11 starting Nov. 24.
