Mrs. Marlene Shirley Fournier of Cochrane, Alberta, passed away on Thursday, July 22, 2021 at the age of 72 after a long battle with PBC, an autoimmune disease of the liver.
Marlene was born to parents, Florence and Murray Carpenter in Timmins, ON on July 10, 1949. She grew up as the eldest of four and graduated from St. Mary’s School of Nursing in 1968. Throughout her 45-year nursing career, she worked in ER, Maternity, Pediatrics and Eldercare. She started at Bethany Care Centre in Cochrane, AB on the day that it opened in 1988 and worked there until her retirement in 2013.
Marlene is survived by her husband of 50+ years, Ron; her sons, Dustin and Dale; her three grandchildren, Jessica, Jonah and Gavin; her parents, Murray and Flo; and her brothers, Brian, Gary and Allan.
